Alioune's Chun Li dominates this Street Fighter V matchup against Ryu, showcasing the character's pressure game and how punishing mistakes at close range can completely shut down an opponent's defense. The video captures what happens when one player understands the matchup far more deeply than the other—Chun Li's mobility and mix-up potential create constant threats that Ryu struggles to answer, leading to repeated openings that get converted into damage. The uploader acknowledges being outplayed decisively, highlighting just how wide the skill gap becomes once matchup knowledge enters the equation. What makes this clip stand out is how methodically Alioune controls space and timing, turning Chun Li's strengths into a wall of offense that leaves little room for counterplay. If you're interested in seeing how character knowledge and superior positioning can overwhelm a defensive player, or studying Chun Li's gameplan against Ryu, this is a practical example of the matchup in action between skilled opponents.
I have 0 clue how to stop this as Ryu, but even if I would know this match up better I would get beaten easily. Everytime I play vs Alioune in SF5 or USF4 I am getting completely outplayed.
