Built for how the FGC
actually watches.
Six tools that make ComboVideos different from a generic video site. Each is built around a specific viewing behavior the FGC has but YouTube doesn't serve — exact matchup search, frame-perfect reactions, curated trading-card collections, and a community-restored historical archive.
Danger Room
— The matchup search engine for the FGC.Pick a game, pick a fighter (or two), and the Danger Room surfaces every indexed combo + match video featuring that exact matchup across 100K+ clips. Two-character filters let you find specific bouts (Magneto vs Sentinel, Liu Kang vs Raiden) — the kind of search YouTube simply can't do.
- 01Open /danger-room. Pick Match or Combo from the topbar.
- 02Pick a game (Marvel vs Capcom 2, Street Fighter 6, etc) — the character roster appears.
- 03Pick P1 (and optionally P2 for a specific matchup).
- 04Results auto-load below. Click a thumb to watch in place; click ⋮ to save it.
- 05Toggle Grid ↔ Search to filter the loaded results by title or channel.
Moments
— Timestamped reactions on the bouts you're watching.Every video on ComboVideos has a Moments timeline running under the player. Drop an emoji + comment at any timestamp — the marker sticks to that exact moment for every future viewer. Clusters of reactions surface the hype frame instantly; click a marker and the player jumps there.
- 01Open any video on /v/yt/<id> or /danger-room.
- 02Watch until something hype happens. Hit the timeline strip under the player.
- 03Pick an emoji from the row, add an optional comment, post.
- 04Your moment lands at the current timestamp — others can click it to jump.
Saves
— Your watch-later firehose. Every bookmark in one stream.Hit + Save on any video, video card, or in-place player. The video lands in your private timeline at /saved, sorted by date saved. Saves are tied to your account so they sync across every device — laptop save → phone watch. Anonymous saves work via localStorage but only on the current browser.
- 01Find a video anywhere on the site — homepage, Danger Room, channel page, search.
- 02Click + Save on the video card or inside the player.
- 03Open /saved to see every bookmark in date order.
- 04Click to re-watch; click − Save to remove it (collections keep their copy).
Collections
— Themed video lists you build and share like trading cards.Group videos into themed lists — "Best Magneto Resets", "MVC2 Tournament Finals", "Combos to Learn Next." Each collection gets its own shareable page at /c/<your-username>/<slug>, rendered as a premium holo-gold trading card. Share with one click to native share or clipboard; receivers don't need an account.
- 01Open /collections. Tap + New collection, give it a name.
- 02From Danger Room or any video page, click + Save and pick the collection.
- 03Visit your binder to manage — rename, toggle public/private, share, or delete.
- 04Share the public link anywhere — Discord, X, group chat. No login required to view.
The Vault
— The 2004 – 2014 ComboVideos archive, restored.Every post from the original ComboVideos run (2004 – 2014) preserved as a flat archive. Original combo videos, contributor posts, and the historical FGC moments that built the catalog. Searchable, browsable by year + author, with broken YouTube embeds annotated for Help Fix.
- 01Open /vault for the full chronological archive.
- 02Filter by year (2004, 2009, 2014 — peak years are the densest).
- 03Click a post to read the original write-up + embedded video.
- 04If a video shows 'unavailable', tap Help Fix to suggest a working URL.
Help Fix
— Community repair for broken Vault embeds.Vault posts from 2004 – 2014 sometimes point at YouTube videos that have been deleted, age-gated, or re-uploaded. Help Fix lets any visitor — logged in or not — submit a replacement URL. Admins review and the embed swaps in across the site. The archive heals itself.
- 01Spot a 'video unavailable' card anywhere on the site.
- 02Tap Help Fix on the card (or open /help-fix directly).
- 03Paste the working YouTube URL for the same video.
- 04Add a short note if you're not 100% certain it's the same content.
- 05Admin reviews the suggestion → embed updates → archive stays alive.
More coming.
