Street Fighter V · Match Video · 2020
Capcom's Dan reveal for Street Fighter V sparked immediate discussion about how the character would translate to the modern fighting game. This comparison breakdown examines development footage across multiple iterations of the character, offering an early look at his final form before release. The most striking visual change is Dan's redesigned taunt animations—he now faces the camera directly instead of turning away, giving his taunts a more confrontational and comedic presence. Beyond cosmetics, the footage reveals a significant gameplay integration: Dan can now cancel his special moves into taunts, a mechanic that blurs the line between showboating and actual strategy. The video draws from both the official Summer Update reveal and extended PlayStation blog footage, giving viewers a comprehensive picture of how Capcom refined Dan's moveset and personality for the current generation. For players interested in character design philosophy and how legacy characters evolve within the same franchise, this development comparison provides concrete examples of both mechanical and stylistic decisions that shaped his arrival.

Also, these taunts look more trolling compared to the old ones too. Another interesting thing is that he can cancel his special moves to taunt now, they actually try to incorporate the taunt into his gameplay too! Thank
