Poppt1 attempts one of the hardest self-imposed challenges in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate: completing the World of Light campaign as a Nuzlocke run without any spirits, on hard difficulty. This "Lightlocke" format forces permadeath rules where losing a character means benching them permanently, eliminating the usual safety net of spirit bonuses that carry most players through the mode. Using King, Ryu, Ken, and Terry, Poppt1 navigates increasingly brutal encounters with minimal resources and no room for error. The no-spirits restriction strips away power scaling almost entirely, making even early fights significantly more threatening than intended. This run combines rigid self-imposed rules with the campaign's designed difficulty, creating a tension between strategic character selection and genuine threat from opponents. The video showcases how differently World of Light plays when standard progression tools are completely unavailable, forcing heavy reliance on player skill rather than item advantages or stat boosts.
Today I tried the impossible challenge of a world of light nuzlocke, also known as a lightlocke, without using any spirits and also playing on hard difficulty. Outro Music: Gangplank Galleon Remix - Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Tags: Mario Donkey Kong Link Samus Dark Samus
