Jump distance testing strips away special moves and air dodges to see which characters can cover ground with just their standard jump and double jump. Mario starts as the expected favorite—canonically one of the series' most mobile characters—but the results reveal surprising competitors. K. Rool's triple jump gives him an unexpected advantage, while other cast members fall noticeably short. The constraint forces the video to isolate pure mobility and airtime, eliminating the flashy tools that usually dominate these kinds of challenges. Viewers have noted that this particular ruleset finally puts Mario in a position where his movement genuinely stands out compared to most of the roster, a rare matchup dynamic in testing videos. The systematic approach to what should be a simple mechanic—how far can you go from point A to point B in the air?—generates enough variation across the cast to keep the challenge engaging throughout.
I've seen many jump videos, and done many of my own, however I don't think I've seen characters horizontal jump distance tested without the use of special moves, so I decided to see for myself. In this test, only jump and double jump is allowed, no special moves and no airdodges. Who is a better long jumper than mario? Make sure to subscribe to see everyone!
