Street Fighter V · Combo Video · 2016
A 1615-damage combo in Street Fighter V that challenges the execution limits of frame-perfect input timing. The video documents the discovery and execution of a 3-TAP charge combo—a technique that requires holding all six buttons simultaneously to charge three separate TAP inputs at once. Unlike previous Street Fighter games where players could only charge two buttons concurrently, SFV's two-button hold requirement opens the door to this high-damage routing. The combo's difficulty stems from two key factors: the second and third TAP inputs demand frame-perfect release timing with virtually no input buffer, meaning the game's usual lenient input window doesn't apply. Additionally, each failed attempt requires a full minute of charging time before trying again, making labbing and refinement extremely time-consuming. Despite the theoretical simplicity of the idea in retrospect, executing this combo by hand—without tool assistance—represents a significant technical achievement in SFV combo optimization. The video explores both the mechanical requirements and the practical challenges of consistent execution, offering insight into how deep SFV's charge mechanics go and what becomes possible when players push past conventional combo thinking.
Firstly, shout out to TOOLASSISTED who I think was the first person to show a 3 TAP combo, I'm guessing I'm the first to do it by hand but I can't be sure. In retrospect it seems obvious but I honestly wouldn't have thought to try a 3 TAP combo because I was still totally in the mind set of the other SF games in which you needed to hold 3 buttons (meaning you'd never be able…

In retrospect it seems obvious but I honestly wouldn't have thought to try a 3 TAP combo because I was still totally in the mind set of the other SF games in which you needed to hold 3 buttons (meaning you'd never be able to charge more than 2 at once). In SFV you only need to hold 2 buttons, so holding all 6 means that you're charging 3 TAPs. Anywa
