Ryu's FADC (Focus Attack Dash Cancel) combo potential in Street Fighter V, explored through desk's perspective as a pad player rather than stick user. The video breaks down how to layer forward dashes into super motions, a timing-dependent technique that requires precision input sequencing. While desk questions the practical necessity of some setups—particularly a tricky FANG combo that rarely sees tournament application—the core focus remains on execution and the mechanical quirks of performing these cancels on a PlayStation 4 controller. The commentary touches on the adjustment curve of playing fighting games without a traditional arcade stick, offering both technical breakdown and candid reaction to the execution demands. Useful for players experimenting with pad play or studying Ryu's cancel-based combo extensions in SFV's neutral and combo systems.
I'm not sure if that FANG combo is actually tricky or I just still suck on the PS4 pad. There's something about how quick the forward dash is and that fact that you have to hide the super motion in it. On the bright side, you'll rarely, if ever actually need to do it. It's really weird not having a stick for a street fighter game, my thumb hurts but I think it's leveling up.
