I am a Alex player!!! And I just wanted to know why is Alex not top tier..

Because of Chun, Ken, Yun, and Makoto.

Alex is a great character, but he has a lots of frame disadvantage against almost every character in the game wich make it harder to compete against the top tier characters.

This is a good subject. If you feel this way, make him if you want him to be top tier. Do like BB Hood did, he made his own team up in MVC2, an awkward team which I believe myself could beat high teir teams.

The same thing with me, I think my Cyclops could murder a Cable, and could give a Sentinel trouble preforming his flymode.
You should go to tormnaments and prove to people Alex could do some shit. He's a good character too. Sort of like Zangief( My favorite character in Capcom Vs. SNK 2).

Use his strength to your advantage, and always think you should win.

Akuma should be top tier...but noooooo capcom has to make him a damage whore...

I like alex too. Tier lists are determined only by the players. Nothing is predetermined. If all the "pros" started using alex he'd automatically be top tier. Tier lists imo in general aren't worth much. I do admit some characters are better than others because of move properties or whatever, but with enough practice anyone can go to the top with any character.

In short,
If you want Alex to be top tier, make him so. He's actually got some good moves.

Of course they had to!! Akuma has 2 many advantages and he can even do 3 super arts. Besides this goes according to the story of the series. Thanks capcom

He takes less damage then most, and does more damage then most hit per hit, but he so slow and has such few links he does about as much damage as ken. Whats more is that he cannot link a super from far away off of a low forward like ken can, so you have to be in close to your opponent to do damage. To get in close its easiest to dash, and Alex's dash sux.

Also, he only has 2 links that start from a low hit: low short xx SAII; and low short xx low forward. The super link is damned near impossible to confirm and the latter does s&*% for damage. Therefore your opponent will generally parry high. SAII (his best super IMO) will take your opponent out of the corner if you have him there, which sux.

Keep playing him and you will realize that his kara throw/stun is his only angle.

LOL o really? well despite having the worst defence and stun meter in the game he still has speed, power, PRIORITY, and is the undisputed king of mixups n juggles and with a good enough rushdown+wakeup game akuma can take on anyone...but with all that being said makoto can easily fuckup akuma by dishing out hella stun damage if ur in her "dash" range and her "up" punch is great anti air not to mention her cr mk beats akuma cr mk but if u can play akuma defensively and time air fireballs well a good akuma player can still win that horrible matchup.

If u think akuma sucks in 3s then play me on xbl i'll b happy to rape u and show u how insane akuma's mixup game is i'l be making u guess all round long.

BTW alex is DEFNITELY not toptier or even close cuz although he can deal alot of damage quickly he must do so by landing his normal links and supers and to do that he has to be close range which is hard to do considering he is slow as hell and alot of his moves have bad recovery without EX and his best S (hyperbomb raid) makes him a decent at beast character and tier wise he is 11th or 12th best if u go by number of favorable matchups for each character.

Ditto. A great Akuma players does his mix up/mind games so quickly that the oponnent can't even guese what he can do. Sooo many ways to land a super and just too many combos not to mention the priority and incredibly damage Akuma can do in so little time. Akuma takes sh** loads of damage but at a good price

Alex isn't top tier but as we sed before over and over again each character is not defined by what it can do, its the players skill with the character that defines the match itself. I've seen some incredible beat down with Alex vs Ken. Alex has an unexpected good mind game going around and hes ex's are some of the best in the game so forget about the supers and the damage he can do is unspeackable. Yes he is slow but not as slow as Hugo and hes an awesome character too.

While alex is one of my favorite 3s characters, i wouldn't say he is top tier. he's pretty slow at times. and a good opponent can get outta hyperbomb and stungun without much worry. but Alex is still quite a badass.
