Hi, I want to know if I can upload the 1st of I think (and want) to be a long line of new tutorials but this time for the MK saga.

The first chapter is for UMK3 and trilogy and is based heavily on the tutorials vids released by dj - b13. he has released the Video bible for CVS2, 3s, MvC2and now is working on CFE and you can see his vids on www.combovideos.com. :D

Im waiting for him to reply me if its ok with him because the vids structure is based on his vids... I dont want copycat problems!

-basic chains
-basic ground combos
-corner combos
-deffensive juggles
-rushdown examples
-miscelaneous section where I will explain different punishment for diferent situations of the game

Sure, go for it. Speaking of which, we need to replace the Fierce Gear section with Game Articles or something. Don't think programmer will be back for a bit.

That'd be really cool to see. I'm an advid UMK and MKT player myself. I've learned A LOT from watching Shock and the others from Dark Templarz. Some tutorials would be awesome to see.

I would advise you to contact other serious players before doing this Hanzo.

Thx for the avise Matt... believe me I did some research before it and thatcoupled to my experience as UMK3 gamer since its origin.... well I will release the vid today. If people doesnt like it they will just post it. No shame in showing something that we dont know if it is going to like or not. Again...thx for the advise.

I loved the end of it where you had stuff that Kano could punish and the anti-air cross ups.

Interesting stuff here. Very useful. Are you really gonna do all character tutorials? Lotta characters between umk and trilogy.

Thx Mr. MJ. Yes we plan to do all chars of the 2 games...chapter 2 is almost finished....and it will feature 2 characters at the same time.....

How about hosting it? anybody interested? I will upload it to www.fightingfanatic.com as soon as i can but it would be cool to see it in CV.:D

I did like to give advise to the people that will download this vid. THIS IS NOT A COMBO EXHIBITION. That is in case the viewer says: "Oh, what crappy combos" or stuff like that. These are EXAMPLES of how to handle the situations given on VS games. In VS chances are hard that you will land flashy combos unless you play at a VERY HIGH level. Also depends on the opponent.

In the rushdown section also they are examples to give the player a better view of spacing between attacks, blockstuns and chip damage. They arent in any way the definitive rushdowns or something like that.

The miscelaneous sections is tested and the punisher attacks are 100% UNBLOCKABLE if you know the timing and have the skill necesary to do it. Since the first MK no one has been able to sweep / wiff Hk-Lk or cross up in a safe way. These people is sick!

Please post your comments and critics, good or bad... all are apreciated and help this proyect to make its way into the TUTORIALS section!

I saw it, like I said you should have consulted others first, like I dunno, Chicago players? Where are all the other sweep tactics and application (specifically because this is Kano)? It's unimportant to show variations of combos, just show the most damaging combos in any situation, per character. Corner blocked uppercuts in succession = you're open, sweeping on rush down that close multiple times = worthless especially against Nightwolf of all characters (I know you used him as demonstration obviously) who can run through Jax Sonya and Kano sweeps and combo them for 50%, Human Smoke too. You should only be showing fool proof and safe tactics, not extremely conditional and situational tactics. What you are showing will work on casual players. This stuff is very basic, the run jabbing you displayed could be applied to any character, are we going to see these identical run jab strings in every video?

Sinala you mentioned something about tutorial videos a while back - it'd be nice so see some from you for the UMK3 cast. After all, there WON'T be another MK combo video from you

The sad part of this is that I never have seen in all of your gameplay vids none of these strats you post here. Chicago players? where says that they are the best or something? About the rushing as I said, they are EXAMPLES. About sweepin g close notice the space between the first 2 sweeps and the 3rd. Dont talk about nghtwolf please cause as I said, I have never seen a decent Nightwolf in any vids outside ours. No, he cnnot run through sweeps, just when you sweep press Hk or Hp and you will see 2 results:

1. Kano connects a combo
2. Nightwilf got Hk or Hp flurry in the face.

Nightwolf is in disvantage against a GOOD Kano player and any good umk player should know it.

EDUT: it would be good to see some tutorials from DTZ.com guys. BUT please: be sure that you can doin actual matches what you will show in your vids! If not we are going anywhere and players will be more scared to get into UMK. You should know it by now.

About if it is basic stuff of course it is! You would not expect a player to pull off sindels flight cancel after watching your vids! ( wich I have never seen outside of those exhibitions also....in fact NO ONE plays sindels in US?)

Not all vids will have the same structure and there should be enough variety to show differents aspects of the game in each vid.

The tactics you displayed are basic, please read.

In any event, yes Kano is ranked 4th and Nightwolf is 5th, but it doesn't change the fact that Nightwolf plows through sweeps with his HK stomp like it's going out of style delivering 50% damage.

The sweep has to complete a duration of frames and running through it as it begins is the key, before the connecting frame, in which there are 3 more frames of recovery and then 2 frames of start up for the "flurry" so no, 7 frames doesn't beat 3. I do this to the Prophet all the time, he hates it, and he's a LOOOOOT better than any Venezuelan player.

I play Sindel, so does DreemerNJ, Mook from University Pinball plays a mean Sindel.

I'm still trying to figure out what you think about how you play is so impressive. The majority of the matches are Kabal, Nightwolf, and MK2 Kung Lao, and of course extremely repetitive, a very little blocking in cases where you can. The videos I have posted over the past couple years have shown a wide variety of players and characters, casual and tournament. If you know any south american Kaillera IPs, I'll try one out sometime. I played someone in Brazil once and it wasn't as bad as I expected.

I agree with both of you guys and the result i feel this should be more of a joint effort for MK tutorials between the american players and the south american players. this is not a bad project to start on for the north american and south american players after you guys expolit every combo there is in UMK and MKT. but hey hanzi i give you props for releasing a MK tutorial vid.
